It becomes even tougher when a global pandemic forces the two sports that are usually conducted in opposite seasons; are played simultaneously. But it's a challenge Pacific Lutheran University sophomore student-athlete Ashton Barton tackled head on this spring, suiting up for both the football and baseball teams over a seven-day stretch.

February 8, 2019 Lutherans rule the day Lutheran ruled the day as Pac Lu and Cal Lu opened their seasons in Arizona with wins. Pac Lu exploded for 13 runs over a two-inning stretch in a 13-8 victory over Redlands. Cal Lu used dominant pitching to take down Texas-Dallas 8-3 for their opening win. Whittier fell to Vangard 9-1 in an exhibition game as they open their season with Willamette on Friday.
